Ancient Roman Coin Sterling Silver Ring

Ancient Roman Coin Sterling Silver Ring

This genuine ancient Roman copper coin has been cleaned up and claw set in a sterling silver ring.

The clever adjustable feature allows this ring will fit sizes K-T (UK) and 5½ - 9½ (US) due to the open design of the band.

Gemstone measures approximately 17x16mm. Comes presented in a Two Skies jewellery box, ready for gifting.

RESIZING ADJUSTABLE RINGS

It's quite easy to change the size of the ring yourself. Just go slowly and be careful, manipulating the inner area of the band with warm fingers rather than pulling at the end sections. This will help maintain its round shape. The ring can span several sizes without compromising the original design. However, once set, it is advisable not to resize it again. Silver is soft and can become brittle and snap if bent too frequently.

  • Roman currency was introduced during the Roman Republic in 300 B.C. and was made of gold, silver, bronze and copper coins. Bronze and copper coins were used for everyday purchases whereas gold and silver coins were used for larger purchases because they had significant intrinsic value. Roman mints were spread widely across the Empire and the populace often only learned of their new ruler when coins appeared with the new portraits!
