Aquamarine

Aquamarine, March’s birthstone, is a pale blue to seafoam green variety of Beryl. Its name comes from the Latin aqua (water) and marine (of the sea). Historically associated with youth and happiness, ancient Greeks and Romans believed it could protect sailors from drowning. Deep blue Aquamarine is rare and highly prized. Fun fact: it became the state gem of Colorado in 1971!
