Ancient Roman Coin Sterling Silver Pendant
This genuine ancient Roman copper coin has been cleaned up and claw set in a sterling silver pendant.
The pendant measures approximately 23x17x2mm, including the bail. It comes with a complimentary 18” sterling silver link chain and is presented in a Two Skies jewellery box, making it perfect for gifting.
Roman currency was introduced during the Roman Republic in 300 B.C. and was made of gold, silver, bronze and copper coins. Bronze and copper coins were used for everyday purchases whereas gold and silver coins were used for larger purchases because they had significant intrinsic value. Roman mints were spread widely across the Empire and the populace often only learned of their new ruler when coins appeared with the new portraits!
