Lewisian Wave Crest Sterling Silver Ring
Lovingly hand-mined and polished Scottish Lewisian ring set in 925 sterling silver, with an eyecatching 'wave crest' design and hidden wishbone. You can choose which size you prefer from a random selection from our current available stock in the drop down menu (see listing photographs for examples).
Lewisian stone measures roughly 8mm diameter. Ring sizes are set, but due to the open design of the band, it can adjust up approximately one ring size by itself without compromising the design - for example, rings sized 'R' should accommodate size 'S' too, but will probably be too large to fit size 'Q'.
You will receive one (1) ring which comes in a tartan pouch with a colourful Scottish Lewisian story card, in letterbox friendly packaging. We have more than one ring in stock - please see photographs for an example of what you will receive.
At Two Skies, we think that "To own a piece of Scottish Lewisian is to own a piece of Scotland itself. By purchasing this beautiful piece you are connected not just to Scotland but to its age old traditions and folklore."
Lewisian comes from the Isles of Lewis, Harris and North Highlands. It is collected from the ancient bedrock of Scotland and is one of the oldest rocks in the world, up to 3 billion years old (3,000,000,000 years!). It is a unique composition of many minerals including Feldspar, Epidote and Quartz, all of which are part of the "Lewisian Gneiss" complex. Lewisian has been treasured for thousands of years by the clans of Scotland. It was used by the Megalithic cultures to construct monuments such as the Callanish stone circle on the Isle of Lewis
