Trilobite Sterling Silver Adjustable Wrap Ring

Trilobite Sterling Silver Adjustable Wrap Ring

Simple yet stunning, this Trilobite has been set in a sterling silver wrap style ring.  The silver has been given a tactile finish, with a hammered, antiqued effect.

Though best worn at approximately size O (UK) or 7¼ (US), the ring will fit sizes L-R (UK) and 6-8¾ (US) due to the open design of the band, without drastically compromising the original design concept too much.  Trilobite measures approximately 18x12mm.

Comes presented in a quality Two Skies jewellery pouch with Trilobites story card, ready for gifting.

As setting adjustable rings can sometimes be a delicate procedure, we are happy to set the size for you before we sent it out to you - just let us know in the 'free gift card message' field.

RESIZING ADJUSTABLE RINGS
It is quite easy to change the size of the ring yourself as long as you go slowly and are careful, manipulating the inner area of the band with warm fingers, rather than pulling at the end sections – this will help keep a round shape too.   This ring will span quite a few sizes without compromising the original design concept.   Once set, it is advisable not to resize again, as silver is quite soft and can become brittle and snap if bent too frequently.

  • Dug by hand in Utah, this Elrathia species, Trilobite fossil is a remarkable, hard-shelled, segmented creatures that existed over 520 million years ago in the Earth's ancient seas! Although all extinct now, (they went extinct before dinosaurs even came into existence!) they represent among the first explosions of biological diversity that this amazing planet of ours has generated over time.

Until the early 1900s, the Ute Native Americans of Utah wore these trilobites, which they called pachavee (little water bug), as amulets. A hole was bored in the head and the fossil was worn on a string. According to the Ute themselves, trilobite necklaces protect against disease and bullets.
