The Koroit Opal Field is close to Yowah, near the township of Cunnamulla, it’s a relatively new mining area and our material comes from several workings. Koroit’s iron stone is a lot darker in colour and the nuts are mostly tunnel dug using a jackhammer. As opposed to Yowah, there is still a lot of potential at Koroit, however its remote location makes mining expensive and difficult.
