Herkimer Diamond Sterling Silver Adjustable Celtic Ring

Herkimer Diamond Sterling Silver Adjustable Celtic Ring

This unique sterling silver wrap style ring is set with a beautifully sparkling Herkimer, which has naturally formed facets and interesting inclusions.

Herkimer measures approximately 12x10mm.  Ring band is 2mm wide at narrowest point.  Height of ring (the length it will span your finger when worn) is approximately 21mm. This stunning ring can cleverly span ring sizes N-S (UK) or 6¾-9¼ (US), without drastically compromising the original design concept too much.

Comes presented in a Two Skies gift box with a 'Clear Quartzes' story card.

Please note that our photographer's hands are fairly small, please check with a ruler if uncertain of scale.   As setting adjustable rings can sometimes be a delicate procedure, we are happy to set the size for you before we sent it out to you - just let us know in the 'free gift card message' field or at checkout.

RESIZING ADJUSTABLE RINGS

It is quite easy to change the size of the ring yourself as long as you go slowly and are careful, manipulating the inner area of the band with warm fingers, rather than pulling at the end sections – this will help keep a round shape too. This ring will span quite a few sizes without compromising the original design concept. Once set, it is advisable not to resize again, as silver is quite soft and can become brittle and snap if bent too frequently.

  • Herkimer quartz "diamonds" are rare, naturally formed and faceted crystals of exceptional clarity, originally discovered in Herkimer county, upstate New York - hence the name! They are named after diamonds not only because of their sparkling clarity, but the naturally formed double termination (pointed ends) and 18 sided facet. Like diamonds, they are extremely rare and difficult to find! Our current stock of Herks were mined at a new location in Afghanistan. Although not from Herkimer, New York, these “diamonds” display the same unique double terminated formation and same beautiful clarity. They are also known in the jewellery trade as “Afghan Herks”. Some Herkimers may have subtle, natural inclusions, such as water or plant inclusions which are extremely rare and demonstrate the stone's natural formation. Stones of attunement, they are said to relieve tensions and heal addictions.
