Found in Utah, USA, these fascinating pieces of fossilised dinosaur bone have been cut, polished and set in a handsome pair of sterling silver cufflinks.

Gemstone cufflink fronts measure approximately 25x13mm and come with a classic toggle fastening. Height including toggle fastening is 22mm.Comes with a Two Skies jewellery box and story card. Perfect gift for a groomsman, executive or snappy dresser!

Fossilised Dinosaur Bone
Fossils aren't actually the bones of ancient creatures themselves, but their stone replacements. Fossils are created by the slow replacement of bone molecules with the mineral molecules of ground water. Depending on conditions, this process can sometimes even preserve the delicate structure of the bones. Other times, the bone dissolves completely, leaving an imprint on the rocks they once lay upon. Teeth and bones are the hardiest parts of vertebrate's bodies. They survive long after everything else has rotted away or been eaten. With the exception of footprints, skeletal remains are the most common fossils to find. However, very few animals of the millions that lived have ever become fossilised, making fossils a rare find!

Sterling Silver
Why do silversmiths use 925%? Measured in parts per thousand, pure silver (999%) is too soft so silversmiths mix it with other metals to make it it harder. The purer the metal, the higher the polish, but it is a lot softer (thus less durable). The harder the metal is, the more hard wearing the jewellery is, but it will also tarnish easier as it has less silver content. Therefore, the silver industry set a standard percentage content for fine silver (925); what we know as "sterling silver". At Two Skies our silversmiths use 925 (sterling) silver for ring shafts and moving parts, and a very high 950% on our stones settings, which enables us to get a strong jewellery item with a beautiful and secure stone setting, without any gluing. Each piece of our jewellery is hand stamped with our Two Skies Hallmark alongside the recognised industry 925 Hallmark
