Cairngorm & Loch Tay Smoky Quartz Two Stone Ring
This two stone ring features a genuine faceted Cairngorm with a Loch Tay smoky quartz. The smoky appearance typical of this beloved national gemstone of Scotland.
This ring is set to size P but the clever adjustable feature allows this ring to span sizes O-P (UK) and 7¼-7¾ (US) due to the open design of the band.
Both stones measure approximately 6x4mm.

RESIZING ADJUSTABLE RINGS
It's quite easy to change the size of the ring yourself. Just go slowly and be careful, manipulating the inner area of the band with warm fingers rather than pulling at the end sections. This will help maintain its round shape. The ring can span several sizes without compromising the original design. However, once set, it is advisable not to resize it again. Silver is soft and can become brittle and snap if bent too frequently.

A particular type of smoky quartz found exclusively in the Cairngorm mountain range, it is known as 'Cairngorm quartz', 'Cairngorm stone' or simply 'Cairngorm'! It was extraordinarily popular during the Victorian age and was a favourite gem of the queen herself. Whole families of prospectors nicknamed 'diggers' worked on the mountains throughout the 1800s searching for this rare crystal. Nowadays the land is protected by the Cairngorms National Park Authority, making the beautiful Scottish smoky quartz even harder to come by. However, Two Skies managed to obtain rough material from a private historic collection, which when cut made such high quality faceted stones that even we were amazed. Our contemporary settings are highly unusual when most Cairngorm jewellery pieces on the market are antiques - get your own piece of Scottish history with a twist.
