Lovingly hand-mined and polished Lewisian, complimented with a sparkling Garnet and set in 925 sterling silver, with a Celtic Twist design. Ring stone measures roughly 8mm diameter, Garnet 3mm diameter. The clever wrap design of the band means that although this ring is set to a standard P (UK) and 7¾ (US), it can adjust either way to accommodate slightly larger and smaller sizes, without compromising the concept of Adam's design. Total ring height is roughly 25mm.
Please note that we have more than one of these rings in stock, and the ring you receive, although extremely similar, may not be the exact ring in the photographs.
As setting adjustable rings can sometimes be a delicate procedure, we are happy to set the size for you (please check description for size range) before we sent it out to you - just let us know in the 'free gift card message' field.
At Two Skies, we think that "To own a piece of Scottish Lewisian is to own a piece of Scotland itself. By purchasing this beautiful piece you are connected not just to Scotland but to its age old traditions and folklore."
Lewisian & Garnet Celtic Twist Sterling Silver Ring
Lewisian comes from the Isles of Lewis, Harris and North Highlands. It is collected from the ancient bedrock of Scotland and is one of the oldest rocks in the world, up to 3 billion years old (3,000,000,000 years!). It is a unique composition of many minerals including Feldspar, Epidote and Quartz, all of which are part of the "Lewisian Gneiss" complex. Lewisian has been treasured for thousands of years by the clans of Scotland. It was used by the Megalithic cultures to construct monuments such as the Callanish stone circle on the Isle of Lewis
